Second Annual Gay Brewer, Jr. Grant Program Benefit Golf Tournament Scheduled for August 14

The Gay Brewer, Jr. Golf Course at Picadome in Lexington will host the second annual Gay Brewer, Jr. Grant Program Benefit Golf Tournament on Friday, August 14. The event, which will feature four-person teams in a best score of four (net) per hole, will get underway with registration and lunch at 11:30 a.m., and a shotgun start at 1 p.m. A reception and silent/live auction will follow at the course. The auction will feature many great items, including memorabilia, golf packages, and more. Entry is $250 per person and includes golf and cart fees, tee gifts, lunch, drinks and reception. A portion of each entry fee is tax deductible.

When you add just enough thunderstorms and other weather related delays, the conditions can get even more difficult. But, that didn't deter the two dozen KSGA golfers from shining bright and producing some of the best golf of the week.

2009 Gay Brewer, Jr. Grant Program Recipients Announced

The Kentucky Golf Foundation is pleased to announce grant recipients for the 2009 Gay Brewer, Jr. Grant Program.  The program was founded in 2007 by friends of the late Gay Brewer, Jr., who wanted to create a program in which his memory and legacy could be honored, while at the same time, providing financial support to junior golfers in Kentucky with the desire and ability to compete at the regional and national level.  Each recipient is awarded a $2,000 grant, which may be used toward expenses incurred in junior golf competitions at the regional and national level in 2009.

Kentucky Senior Golf Association to Conduct Fall Trip and Two-Man Tournament

As a service to its members, the Kentucky Senior Golf Association will conduct the inaugural KSGA Fall Travel Trip and Two-Man Golf Tournament from Sunday, September 13 to Tuesday, September 15 at Dale Hollow State Resort Park.  This event offers KSGA Members the opportunity to spend a few days together in a beautiful setting for camaraderie and competition.  KSGA Executive Director Mark Hill will serve as the event host.

Rakestraw and Aaron Win KSGA Two-Man in Sudden Death

The team of Happy Rakestraw and Doug Aaron defeated Mike Lenox and Keen Shackelford on the first hole of a sudden death playoff to capture the 2009 KSGA Two-Man Team Championship.
