Cain Adds to Record Match Play Crowns

Storms Reduce Finals to 9 Hole Rounds

Persimmon Ridge Golf Club is celebrating it's 20th anniversary this year and from the beginning the golf venue has been rated as one of Kentucky's finest and one of the most difficult. When you add just enough thunderstorms and other weather related delays, the conditions can get even more difficult. But, that didn't deter the two dozen KSGA golfers from shining bright and producing some of the best golf of the week.

Rick Cain won his record fourth KSGA Match Play Championship with victories coming in 2003, 2004, 2007 and now the 2009 crown. His 5&3 victory over Happy Rakestraw will vault him into the lead for the 2009 Player of the Year. Other flight winners include Joe Pavoni - Flight 1, Jerry Edwards - Flight 2, Bill Harding - Flight 3, Ed Heymann - Flight 4 and Jerry Dowdy - Flight 5.
