The Kentucky Senior Golf Association, through its Fred Allen Fund, will once again provide financial assistance to junior golfers from Kentucky who qualify for the United States Girls' Junior Championship and the United States Junior Amateur Championship.  Each participant is eligible for up to $1,000 in assistance to cover expenses associated in traveling to and participating in the event.  The 2009 United States Girls' Junior Championship and United States Junior Amateur Championship will be conducted July 20-25  at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

Kentucky's participants in the 2009  United States Girls' Junior Championship are Alex Carl (Union) and Emma Talley (Princeton), and in the 2009 United States Junior Amateur Championship, Matt Anderson (Tompkinsville) and Cameron Beal (Bowling Green) are scheduled to compete.

The Kentucky Senior Golf Association's Fred Allen Fund is named in honor of the late Fred Allen of Louisville, a long-time supporter of golf in Kentucky, accomplished player and member of the Kentucky Golf Hall of Fame.  “Mr. Allen is a revered figure in Kentucky golf, and his legacy lives on in the lives of junior golfers in Kentucky through the Fred Allen Fund,” said Mark Hill, Executive Director of the Kentucky Senior Golf Association.
